Hi everyone

For those who don’t know last year my dad and I took part in a British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) Marine Medic Course. After completing the course we both became qualified marine mammal medics. These medics are called up to deal with any marine animal strandings (both living and dead). Examples of these include dolphins, whales, seals and even sea turtles.

This year my dad is taking part in the Loch Ness Marathon this September to raise funds to purchase a ‘Seal kennel’. This apparatus is a large cage that can makes it easier to transport seals to and from rescue centres. Currently there are no seal kennels in the Ayrshire region and the nearest ones are further north in the Inverness region. Having a seal kennel makes rescues easier, faster and is less stressful for the rescued animal.

My dad and I have set up a justgiving page and the target is UK£250. All money donated for my dad’s run will go straight to the purchase of a high quality seal kennel.

If you are interested in donating you can use this handy link:https://www.justgiving.com/NessieSavesSeals

If you are interested in doing a marine mammal medic course (UK only) here is a handy link for that:

Although the show floor won't open until tomorrow morning, ComingSoon.net is already on the scene and managed to snap the below images of a Jurassic World theatrical standee, featuring the franchise’s iconic T. Rex!
